Trust in Him
Trust is absolutely vital in any relationship. It is the foundation of all relationships.
Without trust it is impossible to have a life-giving and healthy relationship. Time and time again, throughout the scriptures, the Lord invites us to trust Him.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
I suppose we can force ourselves to trust, but it’s far inferior to a heart that naturally learns to trust because we have come to truly know someone. When we discover someone to be trustworthy, it’s because they have proven themselves to be dependable over and over again.
We’ve established a history with them so that their word is gold to us, we know they will absolutely do what they said they would do. The same is true with Jesus. Our trust in Him and our confidence in Him is a fruit from our deep relationship with Him. We trust Him at His word because He has proven over and over again to come through.
I want to encourage you to get in front of whatever challenging circumstances you might currently be facing or even those that may come. We get in front of them by allowing our roots to go deep in Jesus by drawing near to Him, spending time with Him, getting to know Him better, and allowing Him to get to know us. Let’s strengthen our relationship with Jesus and learn that He is trustworthy. That He is the most dependable Person there is. He is completely trustworthy!
