community and connection
The lifeblood of our church family is healthy relationships. When the Apostle Paul wrote in I Corinthians 13:13, "Now these 3 remain, faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love,” he was putting all of his marbles in love. Jesus said, “All of the law and prophets are summed up in these two commandments. Love the Lord with all of your heart, soul, and strength AND love your neighbor.” (Mt. 22:40), He was declaring that love of one another is everything. The Apostle John said, “If we say we love God but don’t love our brother, we are a liar” (I Jn. 4:20). How we love each other is a big deal.
The Church is made to be in healthy relationship. It’s in our very DNA. One can’t be “the Church” alone. The very word Jesus used for “Church” is ekklesia which means 2 or more or “the gathering.” We are meant to be together and operate in love which can take work! This is what being in community with other believers is about. We get to learn to love each other and thus fulfill the greatest commandment.
If you haven’t plugged into a Community Group at The Fountain, I encourage you to do so. It is life changing. It’s where the rubber meets the road and where transformation happens. You can find our existing Community Groups on our app or website. Plug in and see what Jesus does in and through you!
