Giving Is Worship
Jesus said “Where your treasure is, there your heart is also.” (Mt. 6:21).
Simply put, our hearts and our wallets are tied together. We give our money to things that matter most to us. And so when the scriptures speak of giving a tithe (10% of our income) it is speaking to the matter of our heart.
The tithe forces us to look at how we view and value money and as is true in all aspects of life money is to be a part of our worship expression to Jesus.
Tithing is about obedience, trust, gratitude and surrender. Obedience because the Lord commands us to give. Trust because we are telling the Lord that we trust Him to do more with the 90% we have than we could do with 100%. Gratitude because we thank Him for the money He has provided for us.
Surrender because we recognize that 100% of what we have is from the Lord.
May I invite you to take a fresh look at your giving? Will you ask the Lord to help you in generosity in 2026? Let’s be those who give to the Lord with joy and faith as we advance the Kingdom together.
