A Lifestyle of worship
Living a lifestyle of worship is a game changer. As the kids would say, it’s a cheat code (ask a teenager!).
From a heart of worship, where we do everything we do as an act of worship unto the Lord brings us constantly into an awareness of God with us. We go from worship only being something we participate in corporately on a Sunday morning or while singing along with our favorite worship playlist to understanding that my life is a living sacrifice unto the Lord.
There is great power in that!
How we love our spouse, our children, our neighbor. How we apply ourselves at work, how we serve at church, how we steward our finances, our home, etc. all are acts of worship. They matter to the Lord and they reflect our heart posture towards Him.
We often limit worship to the Sunday morning singing experience and while worship is much more than that, we would be mistaken to not understand nor place a high value on the act of singing through praise and worship.
They too are game changers! Scripture says we enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise Ps. 100:4). We know that worship through song is a big part of what takes place in heaven
(Rev. 14:3). God sings over us (Zeph. 3:17). Singing is a weapon of warfare (Joshua 6). God looks for worshipers (John 4:24) and if He can’t find them, He said even the rocks would cry out.
I never want to be out worshiped by a rock. I want the King of Kings to find a heart in me that is surrendered to honor Him in everything I do and in every breath I have, including the breaths I take while singing!
