come up here

This past Sunday, (1/12/25), the title of my teaching was Elevate at the Gate.  I encourage you to listen to it or even re-listen to it as there is a prophetic sense of what the Lord would have us do in this season and prayerfully for the rest of our lives.  Simply put, God is calling us to elevate, to ascend, and to come up higher in our walks with Him because He desires to show us things about who we are, the days we live in, and who our brothers and sisters are in Him that will be critical if we are to run this next leg of our journey with Him successfully.

So how do we elevate in our relationship with Jesus?  First, I don’t think it would be a stretch for most of us to agree with the statement that “We are not where we desire to be in our walks with Jesus” or “We wish we were at a deeper place in our walks with Jesus.”  In other words, we all recognize that there are areas needing growth and upgrade in our relationship with Him.  So how do we ascend?

We talked about four things Psalm 24 says about those who ascend or go higher in relationship with the Lord.  Those who have clean hands, a pure heart, who have no idols in their lives (an idol is anything we value more than the Lord), and those who have no deceit in their mouths (they don’t lie or make false promises).  But it’s impossible to do these things if we strive to do them.  Friend, we go higher in our walks with the Lord by abiding in Him or stating it another way, by spending time with Him…lots of it.  The fruit of the Holy Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) don’t come through effort, they come by being continually rooted, connected to, and abiding in Jesus through a vibrant relationship with Him.  So it is with ascending.  We go higher in Him by being with Him continually.  I encourage you to pursue that type of relationship with Jesus.  Let’s elevate in our journey with Him and gain a heavenly perspective on those and the world around us.

With Joy,

Pastor Reggie

supporting the campbells

As many of you know by now, Nick and Marie Campbell, longtime members and family friends of The Fountain, lost their eldest daughter, Star, earlier in January. (Star is pictured far left, with her son.)

The Fountain has set up a LOVE fund for them to help them through this difficult time. You can give below, by clicking on "CLICK HERE TO GIVE" and choose "Benevolence" at the giving site, or bring checks or cash on Sunday. We will be collecting this through January.

Star's memorial service will be on March 9, at 2 p.m., at Moorpark Presbyterian Church, 13950 Peach Hill Road, in Moorpark.
Everyone is invited to wear green or Famu (green/orange) colors as those were Star's favorites.

Giving generously.

If you’ve been blessed by the Fountain, please consider a gift of any amount to help us continue the mission Jesus has given us to advance His Kingdom in southern California and beyond.
