THE LORD’S GIFT FOR US
God showed us how to rest on the seventh day, in Genesis 2.
In the 10 Commandments, He instructed us to take Sabbath each week—a 24-hour period.
Even Jesus tells us that the Sabbath was made for man. For us.
When God is frustrated that the Hebrews aren’t obeying His instructions on resting, He says to Moses: “They must realize that the Sabbath is the Lord’s gift to you.” (Exodus 16:29)
Do we treat the Sabbath as a gift? Do we open it each week with anticipation and delight?
I love delving into the spiritual gifts given to me and to others, using them for the Kingdom and encouraging others to use their gifts. The power in spiritual gifts is displayed when shared with the body. However, the power of the Sabbath is different. The power of the Sabbath comes out when we hold it as a treasure and pull it out each and every week to share with Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.
It’s a gift we keep for ourselves.
And it’s a gift that when used regularly, will help you walk closer with Jesus, thus becoming more like Him.
