Relationship is the key!
As we have been reviewing our ten Cultural Beliefs, it’s important to remember that each of these beliefs grow through the fact that we operate in an apostolic culture.
It’s equally important to realize that an apostolic culture is relational.
The Apostle Paul demonstrated this through how he interacted with the growing church.
He said in scripture that he could have exerted his authority as an Apostle over the people, but instead took a relational approach.
“For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory”
(1 Thessalonians 2:11-12).
While we may not all carry the office of an Apostle, we are all called to be apostolic.
That is, we are sent by Jesus to carry the Kingdom of God in our areas of influence. Most importantly this is best accomplished through our relationships.
There’s an old saying, “People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
